The Guns and Hoses Ring was designed as a symbol of pride and unity. It is for Police Officers and Firefighters who are willing to fight for a cause. The ring is a symbol of the time and dedication you have put into your training and the event.
There are 2 qualifications to earning a ring. One, to be eligible to qualify for a ring you must have boxed in one of the Guns and Hoses boxing tournaments. The second qualification is you must raise a preset amount of money to go towards the police/fire benevolence fund. This can be accomplished by getting corporate sponsors for program ads, table sponsors, or by ticket sales. The purpose behind this is we are a very small organization that is made up of all volunteers, and it would be impossible for us alone to get the word out to everyone.
We ask that you to go to your city/neighborhood and help us promote the event. We all want to believe no one in our city will ever need the money but reality is tragedy strikes everywhere. The money we raise benefits the families of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty. We also support several local children's charities. As our event grows, the amount of help we give will also grow. We would like to thank you for believing in and supporting the cause.
If you know of a possible sponsor and would like a sponsorship information packet, please e-mail or call Kris at khostrup@garlandisd.net or 972 880-7526
