Guns & Hoses Benevolence Fund Opens For Fallen Abilene Detective Elise Ybarra

(Tuesday-August 8, 2017) "On August 6, 2017 at approximately 6:15 pm, Detectives Elise Ybarra, Chris Milliorn, and Robert Collins were enroute to the Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas. As they approached Mile Marker 296 east bound on Interstate 20, they encountered traffic moving at a slow pace, as there had been a vehicle crash ahead.

Detective Ybarra, who was driving an unmarked detective’s vehicle, entered a line of slow moving traffic. A short time later, an eastbound white Chevrolet Pickup came upon the line of traffic that was slowed and collided with the Detectives’ vehicle. Sadly Detective Elise Ybarra, age 32, sustained fatal injuries in the crash and died at the scene."

The missions of Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas is to show our respect and gratitude for police and fire fighters lost in the line of duty. We are dedicated to provide monetary support for the families of fallen police and fire fighters in the hour of need.

The Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas has officially opened the Benevolence Fund to help assist the family of fallen Detective Elise Ybarra. These men and women have shown a great deal of strength in their lives and in our communities. The bottom line is, we can’t do it without your help.

Snuffer’s Hosts Fundraiser For Fallen First Responders

DALLAS – Friday marks the one-year anniversary of one of Dallas’ most tragic days, when five of the city’s finest first responders were gunned down during an ambush.

To honor their memory, Snuffer’s Restaurant & Bar has joined Lakewood Brewing Company to host a fundraiser benefitting the Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing immediate financial assistance to the families of fallen first responders lost in the line of duty.

For every Lakewood All Call pint sold at Snuffer’s from Thursday, July 6, to Sunday, July 16, the brewing company will make a $1 donation to the organization. On Friday, July 7, Snuffer’s will match Lakewood’s donation, meaning that $2 will be donated for every All Call pint sold.

And as always, active-duty and retired first responders receive a 15% discount when dining at Snuffer’s – all day every day – in recognition of their service. (Valid ID or proof of service required.)

“What happened here in Dallas one year ago was truly heartbreaking and it reminded all of us at Snuffer’s that our freedoms aren’t free,” said Steve Chambers, Snuffer’s Director of Operations. “And while we can never adequately repay these brave men and women for their service, we do have the opportunity to raise money for the families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice for our city and its residents.”

This fundraiser will take place from open to close at all 11 Snuffer’s locations. For the restaurant nearest you, and more information on the entire menu, visit
