Officer Brian Jackson grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii before moving to the mainland to attend the University of Rhode Island. He graduated with a degree in Arts and Sociology in 1999 and began working for the Charleston Ambulance Rescue Service. In August 2001, Officer Jackson became a proud member of the Dallas Police Department.

Officer Jackson met his wife, JoAnn, in Rhode Island and the two were married in August 2005. Officer Jackson was cherished by those close to him for his fun-loving spirit. He would spend his free time with his wife and friends, and was always there to make people laugh. Officer Jackson enjoyed working out and watching the History Channel, and worked every day to better his Dallas community.

On November 13, 2005, Officer Brian Jackson was responding to a domestic disturbance call when the suspect fled. While pursuing on foot, Officer Jackson was shot and killed. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; parents, John and Valerie; and sister, Gina.
