Reserve Officer Sheldon Gordon was born with a desire to help serve those in his community and his country. He served in the Navy Reserves as an aviation technician for 27 years and volunteered as a reserve officer for the Dallas community for 35 years.

Officer Gordon was known for his dedication to his community and his family. In his spare time he spent time with his family, and enjoyed photography, woodworking and repairing electronics. He is remembered for his quiet nature and his children cherish memories of him camping with them and teaching them to fish.

On December 12, 2004, Reserve Officer Sheldon Gordon wason his way to report for the White Rock Marathon when he was struck and killed by an intoxicated driver. Officer Gordon is survived by his daughter, Michelle; son, Phil; granddaughters, Jade and Lacey; and former wife and friend, Maureen.
