Senior Corporal Victor A. Lozada, Sr. proudly served with the Dallas Police Department for 20 years as well as 22 years with the National Guard. Born in Mexico City, Senior Corporal Lozada moved to Houston, Texas with his eight siblings when he was 2 years old. He attended the University of Houston in 1978 before beginning his work as a public servant with the National Guard in 1981.

Senior Corporal Lozada spent his time with his wife, Theresa, and their four children. A true family man, Senior Corporal Lozada loved fishing and following family traditions he and his children cherished. Proud of his heritage and career, the Lozada family was known at Christmas for having different trees that represented his Hispanic culture, American culture, the Dallas Police Department and the Army. Always a man of honor, Lozada was known for saying, “Everyday is the first day of the rest of your life.” His smile and humor are what his children, wife and fellow officers hold in their hearts.

On Friday, February 2, 2008, Senior Corporal Victor A. Lozada, Sr. was providing escort for Senator Hilary Clinton when his motorcycle struck a concrete barrier and crashed. He was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Senior Corporal Lozada is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Victor Jr., Lisa, Stephanie, and David; and eight siblings.
