Fire Captain Kenneth “Luckey” Harris, Jr. served with Dallas Fire Department for over 31 years, attaining the rank of Captain for his dedicated service to the Dallas community. He had attended McLennan County Community College until he was accepted into the Dallas Fire Academy and followed his passion to save the lives of those in his community.

Captain Harris owned Harris Home Inspections and Construction with his family, knowing his efforts helped keep others safe at home. He met his devoted wife, Holly, and the two of them welcome three boys, Jud, Jarrod and Heath, completing their happy family. Captain Harris enjoyed offshore fishing with his friends and sons, and was a devoted member of his church, constantly following the path of Jesus Christ. Hee is remembered for his ability to light up a room and all who worked under him couldn’t imagine working with anyone more deserving and respectful.

On April 17, 2013, Fire Captain Kenneth Harris, Jr. gave the ultimate sacrifice while helping the community of West, Texas following the fertilizer plant explosion. He is survived by his wife, Holly; sons, Jud, Jarrod and Heath; mother and stepfather, Scottie and Emory; father and stepmother, Ken and Annita; and sisters, Anne and Carmen.
